We’re not really techy-people, so this post will not be about technical side of the gadgets for wedding photographers. Instead, we wanted to focus on the things that make our workdays a better experience. About the things that make working behind the computer easier and more fun!
And these are actually the things we use and love.
ON EXTERNAL DRIVES
If we’re talking about gadgets for wedding photographers, this is an absolute must. For any kind of photographer. There are so many different options on the market, but the new SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD is our favourite so far.
It’s small and works fast (transfer speeds of up to 550MB/s via its USB-C – 3.1 Gen 2 connection)
A CORDLESS MOUSE FOR
Even though we mostly work on our laptops, we have a hard time working with a trackpad.
We feel working with a mouse is much faster, especially if we’re talking about editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. (Check out our Lightroom Presets here)
We have tried a bunch of different wireless mouses over the past few years, and for us Logitech are great. We’ve tried the high-techy gamer ones and we didn’t like them at all.
This one is one of our favourites so far – it works fast, it’s smooth, and ergonomic, plus it’s not expensive.
wireless headphones
We love listening to music while we work. Especially when it comes to editing weddings. There is no better way to start a working day with a cup of hot coffee and great music.
Headphones are a must, if you’re like us, working from home a lot, and don’t want to bother other family members with what you’re listening to.
If you ask us, over-ear headphones are the best and these BEOPLAY H4 we bought a few years back were worth the investment. We use them a lot and they still look and feel like brand new!
NO COFFEE NO WORKEE
A day without coffee is like… well, we have no idea! Can’t really start a day without a hot cup of coffee, espresso for me (Simon), a big latte macchiato for Katja.
We travelled a lot of the world and tasted amazing coffee in Central America (Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua)… but we couldn’t really get that coffee back at home.
We are so happy we discovered Iconic Coffee, a specialty coffee brand that sources their coffee directly from farmers and roasts it just before they ship it to you.
Now we had no idea this makes a difference, but let us tell you – it’s so much better.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
This is not a gadget technically, but it’s a must-have accessory for any photographer on the go: weddings, families, lifestyle…
We get asked about this harness a lot and the Money Maker was also one of the best investments we made for ourselves.
First, it will save you a lot of time if you’re working with multiple cameras and lenses. Second, it will help you prevent back pain when you work long hours.
And lastly, it looks good 🙂
ALWAYS KNOW
This tiny thing is called Chipolo. It’s a Bluetooth item finder that connects with your phone, so you can ring it from the app.
It’s super useful – we each use one for our set of keys, car keys, wallet…
We wish we could say we are so organised, we always know where our stuff is, but we don’t. So Chipolo comes in handy when we can’t find our keys, but we’re in a hurry to get to a wedding.
